Happy Halloween ;)

Saturday 26th October

Played with the two boys together today and then rode Solly....lovely day ;)

Wednesday 23rd October

Having been away for over 8 days from Mark, home and the herd it was so good to be back in the fold today. Went down to see horses, Mark played and rode Holly on his own to the village whilst I stayed in the field (ankle still a bit sore) and played at liberty with the two boys.

Lovely seeing the boys and Tara, having a 'yeehaa' around the field even if they were all looking for Holly after she went out with Mark, it was a yeehaa and not a panic, the energy was positive and fun and I think they liked that I was still in the field acting as leader for them ;)

Playing with Stormy and Solly together was fun, played with one then the other to help them not get jealous. Both horses doing more at a distance for me, standing on pedestal from distance, go to cone/around/back at a distance, cod's in and OUT (spins) with Solly...often multiple spins whilst walking in a straight line...cool, lots of jumping and then finally in the round pen with both, circling together and then together in OPPOSITE DIRECTIONS!!! only two laps at different times but wow, I'm impressed how connected they both were with me today....LOVE IT :)

Here are some pictures from the day...it was fun:

Saturday 12th October

Lovely day with horses and Mark. Mark played at liberty with Holly and I played at liberty with Stormy ;)

I also had a nice ride with Solly, working on impulsion and flexibility. Our ride was good, light and willing and we had nice fun with weave and leg yielding ;)

Here's some pics....

Friday 11th October

After all that hard work of moving jumps and obstacles yesterday and the weather not quite so bad today I got out to the field and moved the small round pen and all the jumps, the fig 8 'flower' and lots of poles to make the field workable again without the plastic jumps etc. It looks like a good autumn field now and so I went and got Solly and we played around all the new bits so that he knows what's what and where things are now.

From that good play online we went into the arena and I saddled and rode for a while, it was a nice ride, started a bit sluggish but then we got our act together and started getting our ridden connection. After a bit I opened the arena fence and we went around most of the new tyre/pole jumps, found our impulsion and then had a good session again in the arena ;) Lovely day and here are some pics of the ground work we did....

Stopped at this one, had a good look and then was fine with it ;)

not only picking up the cone....

...he's now walking around with the cone!!! ;) lol

Thursday 10th October
Way WAY too windy to do anything in the field with horses today SO went and got Mark and our trailers down to the field and took up all the obstacles that were being blown around...jump wings, plastic jump poles, trotting pole risers, plastic barrels and the horse agility flags and things that are light weight and we brought them all home for the winter...know it's only autumn but it's not going to be good enough weather to use most of these things now and I still have all the tyres and wooden poles for jumps and trotting poles ;)

Just before leaving I waited at the bottom of the field while Mark was at the top feeding them their dinner....these are the lovely pics I got of the horses whilst waiting ;)

Saturday 5th October

Well golly gosh...how did that happen...it's OCTOBER!?*

Such a nice day today, last week we had quite a lot of needed rain and our streams are running nicely again, today though Mark and I are going to play/ride some horses ;)

First I play with Stormy and Mark plays with Holly in the old HA arena area...not bad, everyone a bit under impulsed but had some fun there, dear Solly was desperate to play with me and get my attention too which was funny (see pics lower down).

We then bought both H&St into large arena and rode them, first Mark BB&BL with his Holly (I did a few short video's for him so that he could see more of how he rides, how Holly looks etc) and then me with Stormy with a few pics below.

RIDING: ME w/Stormy
Getting more trot now....and I'm able
to stay balanced more now too ;)

 Good trot, was fun too

Nice trot...I'm breathing out to control his fast trot,
he came down to a nice steady trot with this ;)

He took me totally by surprise with this canter..yeehaa ;)

Think that must be the MOST trot we've done for ages,
riding the rail and getting him more ON THE RAIl
for longer and longer now. He has a tendency to push
his shoulder into the arena and come off the rail, trying
to get back to any sweet spot in the middle....I stayed
calm and consistent that he not do that and his sweet
spot started to be on the rail with me ;)

 Very nicely together ;)

Really listening to me more and more ;)

Very nice upward balanced trot...yeehaa ;)

LIBERTY: MARK w/Holly and Stormy
S2M with two horses, impressive ;)

 Backing two horses up....

 ....Very good ;)

ONLINE: ME w/Stormy
Trying out back and forward between these
two angled obstacles....

...Going very well but Solly wanted to play too...

...Didn't even realise he was offering his 'bow' behind my back... ;)

...he looks dissapointed I didn't notice him ;(...

...happier now I've aknowledged him now...

...so I give him something constructive to do for me....

...go stand on the pedestal....

..perfect and he feels good too ;)

RIDDEN: Mark and Holly riding bareback and bridleless

RIDDEN: ME & Solly

I had a nice play at liberty with Solly and then put his boots and saddle on and played a bit online. Then I mounted and we had a very nice session but we were both a bit under impulsed and lazy. He tripped a few times and didn't really get engaged much and I felt a bit unbalanced with the saddle going to the right a bit BUT it didn't stop us doing some nice fig 8 flower pattern, RtR L&R in w/t and some canter and then going outside the arena and doing a few good jumps ;)

Hopefully tomorrow there will be better balance, I feel he could do with loosing some weight but even Tara is out of her small paddock now as they race towards Winter, Stormy keeps letting her out of the pen and we had to take it down in case they hurt themselves on the fencing...they certainly know when the seasons change and they know they need to naturally put some weight on and get their coats all fluffy. Summer coats are all coming out big time so the change is on ;)
