Sol is the first to see Tara and Fortune enter the field
Today Tara and Fortune, the other two mares, came back to the big field to be with the herd and the boys and Holly gave them a good reception. They all gave chase, Tara bucked and ran off to some hay and kept herself to herself. Sol seems to be quite taken with our chestnut mare Fortune and chased her a bit but Fortune can take care of herself.

After things settle down, the boys on one side the girls on the other, Holly then makes sure everyone knows their place by going around and moving horses from their hay. Sol and Storm stick together again and Sol realises that no matter that he wants to get to see Fortune he has to move from pressure from Holly...all goes well and the herd now are back in place. So glad they have a large field as this has made it easier for each horse to protect it's personal 'bubble' easier.

Later on Mark went out to ride Holly and I went to groom the others and it was all very interesting. Fortune made sure everyone knew that whilst Holly was out of the field she was second in command! She also tried to keep Tara from the boys which was very interesting!
Finally they all got stuff out of their systems and settled so that when Holly came back it was like a naughty school class and butter wouldn't melt in their mouths. Anyway I always think pictures speak a thousand words so here are some pictures from this afternoon.
Today, after 2 weeks of the boys getting to know each other and letting them have time to find their pecking order, we brought Holly back. They all said hello nicely, think they all missed each other, and then Holly cantered for the hay we'd put out for them...Sol and Storm very close behind her. It has seemed to put the boys closer together as when Holly's about there is no uncertainty as to who is BOSS...it's Holly! lol.
